Very good side dish, but excessive amount of greenish beans for four people. Prepared the green beans every bit directed and sauteed the onion and garlic in butter vs margarine. On a quest to find a recipe which mimicked the local chinese food eatery's green beans, I chose this look-a-similar. Luckily, I didn't read whatever of the almost recent review earlier making this recipe, as the beans ended up being absolutely delicious. (yes, it'due south salty but there's a freaking 1/two cup of soy sauce! That only makes sense!) I didn't have any of the problems that the other cooks experienced, and I did not discover the beans to be very "labor intensive". My simply complaint is that I halved the recipe (for two people), and the melt time ended up being a picayune too long. If you lot like your beans a little crunchy, I recommend cutting back the simmer time. Otherwise, they are a perfect side dish for a weekday or weekend repast.

I modified this a flake but to accommodate my tastes, and to use the frozen French-style dark-green beans I had on manus. I cooked the beans till almost done, and while they were cooking, sauteed the onion in butter, rather than margarine, with some fresh minced garlic. I added a fiddling chicken broth instead of the water and burgoo, which I causeless meant burgoo crystals. The amount of soy sauce, as directed, seemed excessive, and so I just gave it a couple of shots. To this mixture I added the nearly cooked green beans, tossing to coat. Very good!

These are in fact tasty. I decided to apply my all-time judgement, I subbed Worcestershire sauce for the soy, because I agree with the previous reviewers on the common salt outcome. Oh, and I likewise sliced the onion so that information technology would exist easier for the kids to choice them out. I was curious about what the concoction of liquids would taste similar, so I mixed in the soy sauce, bouillon and water but found it to exist as well salty! I increased the h2o to about one/two to 3/iv cup, added some carbohydrate to give it dimension and then cornstarch (with cold h2o of form) to thicken the sauce to give it more cling, thereby providing more than flavor to the green beans. With these modifications, it turned out great!

I fabricated these tonight to go with a roast and they were very tasty it was a skillful alter from the regular light-green beans. I did non however have fresh greenbeans then I used a bigger can of caned light-green beans I drained them well and put and so in a sauce pan. I and then took some of the other cooks advice and only added half of i/4 soy sauce. I did not have beef bouillon cubes and so I took the beefiness broth from the roast and added it instead. I did everything else that the recipe chosen for and it turned out perfect non too salty and just enough flaver. Cheers for sharing this recipe and all the inputs besides. :)

The ONLY manner to swallow green beans!!! The changes I made was I only added 1 TBS butter and I don't boil the beans before hand. I melt my butter and minced garlic and onion and then add together my frozen green beans, allow those melt for a few minutes, then I add the rest. I have made these over and over!!

I've never had better greenish beans. I went with Worcestershire sauce instead of the soy sauce (way too salty!) and it was Fab-U-luss.

I LOVED THIS RECIPE!!! The just changes I made was to utilise one/4 loving cup of depression sodium soy sauce and 1/4 cup of worcestershire. These turned out great! Tasty and delicious! I will definitely be making this recipe often!

This has got great flavor and it's not smothered with flossy stuff similar almost of the other recipes. My married man loved information technology and he doesn't actually care for green beans. I recommend cooking the light-green beans for only 10-15 minutes, though, because they will get besides soggy otherwise.

These were totally succulent! But I won't cook them first anymore. They were very overcooked by the end of it. I like 'em crunchy, and then even twenty minutes in the broth is longer than necessary. But they were delicious!

We liked these beans. I simplified it alot though. I cooked the beans to the mode I liked them, and then put them in to saute with butter and soy with a little garlic likewise. No other ingrediets were used . The sauce thicken and coated the beans and they were washed. 2 of the iv kids liked them and my married man and I really liked them. Volition definately do again.

This was sooooo good! My only regret is that I didn't take more beans! This "side dish" took the crown for the whole dinner, even over pecan crusted salmon and rice pilaf. My kids and DH were bummed when information technology was all gone. Will definately brand over again, presently!

Fifty-fifty my boyfriend who HATES green beans loved this dish. I cut the recipe in one-half (left the garlic the same) and merely threw in one beefiness bouillon cube. The soy sauce added keen flavor to the beans. I served this with steak and roasted red potatoes.

This was a delicious fashion to fix green beans and make them kind of different. I halved the amount of soy sauce considering that was all I had, and it came out fine. Addendum: I made it later and forgot to halve the soy sauce and it was terrible! Retrieve to reduce the amount of soy sauce. It was very salty and gross!

I loved the asian flavor on these. My DH prefers the southern style simmered with bacon and onion, so he really didn't treat this dish. I could have eaten double my portion though. Thanks for a prissy side dish!

I normally read all the reviews of a recipe advisedly before preparing it, and I wish I had this time. As the recipe is written, this was fashion, way, way too salty for united states of america. Soy sauce and bouillion both contain quite a fleck of salt, and so I think I will buy some low-sodium versions and try this one again. four 1/2 stars.. I used frozen green beans, but thawed them first. I started with frying bacon and cooking the onion in the bacon grease and butter. I used half the amount of soy sauce every bit suggested by other reviews. Fabricated it twice to go it correct! Took them to a BBQ and everyone loved them!

Made this tonight and my boyfriend raved about it! I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and halved the reduced sodium soy sauce. Nonetheless tasted salty to me - but if you really think about it, salt is the starting time ingredient listed on the boullion, so common sense would say you practically toss in 2 Tbsp of table salt right there.

I served these on Christmas alongside prime rib and whipped potatoes. They were fabulous... the favorite function of the meal for most of u.s.a. (fifty-fifty those who don't really like beans!). My only alter, thanks to other reviews, was to utilise half the soy sauce. To save time, I boiled the beans the day before and stored them in the fridge without whatever liquid.

This recipe was a hit! I think from now on I volition pair this with Asian cuisines considering it does have a strong soy sauce season to information technology, and I think it would complement Asian dishes. For four people, I used about a pound of green beans and that was just enough. I halved the recipe, and it turned out cracking. This recipe is a keeper and I highly recommend it!

Yum!! These beans were very tasty. So much meliorate than plainly ones. However, I did brand some changes. I used less margarine, cutting the soy sauce in half (and used low sodium) and for the other half I substituted worcestershire sauce. Besides I had no onions, but information technology was but fine with out them. I may have added extra garlic too- we love our garlic effectually here!

These were fantastic! I added ane/2 cup of beef goop instead of using h2o and boullion cubes. We had a marinaded sirloin tri-tip roast with these and the flavors together were fantastic! I will definitely be making these once again!

These got rave reviews from my dinner guests. I did cut the amount of butter in half and used veggie broth instead of beefiness bouillon/water. They nevertheless tasted fantastic. The sauce was very runny at the end, so I would recommend cornstarch. But I made this with mashed potatoes so just used the actress sauce as a gravy. Tin't wait to brand these again!

I make this recipe all the fourth dimension with canned french manner light-green beans. I just dump the beans (water and all) into a pot and add together the onion, garlic, the beef bullion, and 1/4 c. worcestershire. I simmer for about 10-fifteen minutes and and so bleed and top with a niggling butter when serving. They go peachy with grilled steak. Wonderful way to apparel up canned grean beans!

I really did like this recipe a lot, my merely complaint is that it is a tad also salty. I even used reduced sodium soy sauce, and half the amount of bullion, adjacent fourth dimension I will use a trivial less. I used shallots instead of onions, and frozen steam in the bag green beans and it was nonetheless very good.

These green beans were wonderful. Practice non use anything but low sodium soy sauce and do non add any more salt. I usually add salt to everything on my plate merely these diffenently exercise non need any more salt fifty-fifty with the depression sodium soy sauce. The beans were great over rice and served with the Grilled Asian Chicken (too on this web site). I likewise used "shallots" (please notation change from previous review), and onions instead of garlic considering I didn't accept any on hand but I'm sure they would exist just equally good with garlic.

Not too sure almost this recipe, the finish season was quite good, but it was a flake messy. I kept having to put a little water in the pan and then that the beans would cook. Eventually when they cooked I put the oil in and the end result was that the onion and garlic flavours disappeared and merely tasted like burnt bits.

Peachy- I slowly added soy sauce to taste, great with crumbled bacon. After a couple minutes of cooling butter sauce thickens alittle- everybody loved it.
